I have wanted to take on the John O’Groats to Lands End challenge for a few years. The idea turned in to more of a reality when my husband Ray asked what I wanted to do when I retired. When I told him I wanted to walk JOGLE, his response was something like “I enjoy a good walk but that’s just ridiculous.” Once I’d voiced the idea it became something I wanted to do whenever I had the opportunity. Well the opportunity arose this year with some careful planning with my family members and an opportunity for a career break. So at 53 with 31 years of working in the NHS as a Speech and Language Therapist and with my 3 wonderful children all self sufficient, here I am. I’m very fortunate to have a really supportive husband and family and friends who, although they think that it’s a bit strange are behind me all the way. There’s no time like the present…….
